What you are buying on one box

A dedicated-box non-production LOI. One EFI on a PowerEdge you can afford to dedicate. Guest disk is an 8 GiB USB slice. Native coexist is TLS 1.2 HTTPS with a lab millicert. PRE-EBS SNP remains plaintext HTTP. The operator latch is a lab latch until auth.token is on the stick. It is not PERC, not cluster, not Windows.

Dedicated-box lab

  • Single r640-hypervisor.efi. No OS. No packages.
  • Everest loop on a real R640: network SPA, Alpine ISO, reboot to disk, login:.
  • Guest disk survives Force Off on an 8 GiB USB window of a larger Toshiba stick. Not leftover DRAM. USB is not the RAID array.
  • Coexist listen on https://10.99.99.x:8443/. A4 TLS iron printed RAYNU-V-M8-TLS-OK on 928d6224 after curl --cacert returned the SPA. Standing HTTPS during Alpine is firmware-in-tree, not iron. Lab millicert, TLS 1.2 only. PRE-EBS SNP remains plaintext HTTP.
  • Shared lab latch (raynu-v-bringup) until ESP EFI/RayNu/auth.token is staged. Host tests refuse the latch. The box you own still accepts it.
  • Keyboard is iDRAC SOL / HV UART. The SPA is not a guest console.

Does not ship

Say this out loud

  • not PERC. The mapper skips the Ubuntu H740P virtual disk. USB persist is not fleet persist. Do not format Ubuntu.
  • not cluster. vMotion-like, DRS-like, and hot-add are M9.
  • not Windows. Alpine-on-virtio is the guest. A typed windows_iso is later.
  • Iron HTTPS is DONE on COM2 928d6224 (RAYNU-V-M8-TLS-OK). Residual: lab millicert, one TLS 1.2 cipher, PRE-EBS SNP plaintext HTTP.
  • Iron ESP-required auth is open. A lab latch is not an operator credential.
  • Iron SPA keyboard / VNC is open until standing HTTPS is lived. Firmware POST /console/keys and GET /logs/guest are in-tree. Not VNC.

Dedicated-box versus fleet

Bar A is one box. Bar B is “keep the iron, replace the licensed hypervisor” on PERC virtual disks they already paid for. Do not skip A to sell B. A USB demonstration is not RAID-fleet evidence.

A1 Everest is done. A2 persist is done on evidence. A3 is this page. A4 TLS iron is DONE. Standing SPA is NOW (then A6). A5 is a named residual, not a fake close.
